I had the chance to meet up with Jessica who is an up and coming hair stylist/makeup artist in the Orange County area. She was looking for a photographer to shoot her 20's theme photo shoot and she found me!!! This was the first time that I didn't choose the location, model or even the time of the shoot and I must say it was NICE!! Well especially because I have only lived in the Orange County area for two weeks now I don't know of many spots yet!! On Saturday and Sunday The Blue Angels visited Charleston and gave us all a wonderful show over the harbor! From all the creative formations to twists and turns they kept us viewers on our feet! I had the honor of photographing the first baby born at the new East Cooper Medical Center! Heather and Clay are good friends of mine and when they asked me to photograph the birth of baby #4 I couldn't have been more excited! Once I received the phone call that mother nature started taking course, I rushed to the hospital only to wait for hours for Miss Kylie to make her appearance. Through the many hours eagerly awaiting her arrival, many other events were taking place. We started at the old East Cooper hospital and at 6am with mom in FULL labor, dad and (baby still comfortable in mommy) were transported to the new East Cooper by ambulance. Once arriving at the new facility we all were greeted by the news media covering the grand opening of the hospital. Nicely enough they waited to bombard the family until after miss Kylie was born. All the hospital staff scrambled around looking for temperature gauges, towels and even patient charts! Heather being the first patient at the new hospital, everyone still was figuring out where everything was located in the new, upscale rooms! The wait was finally over Miss Kylie Jo Combs had made her grand entrance as the first baby born at the new East Cooper Medical Center and more importantly baby #4 at the Combs household! She was born April 1st 2010, weighing a whopping 8lbs 13 oz and 22 1/2 in long. I want to say a HUGE thank you the whole staff for such a wonderful job pulling it all together and doing what they do. Also a even bigger thank you to Heather and Clay for letting me be apart of the most amazing thing that takes place in this world. To take a look at her mini movie click on the link below!

So I am always trying to come with new and exciting ideas for sessions, and came across a Michigan photographer that offers photos with live animals!!! Great idea, right?! As you all know I am a on-location photographer, which means I will travel to your favorite spot to take your photos. Well in looking at Maureen Hartson's photos I wanted to try to capture a studio feel, as she did. Also I would assume that keeping the animals in a contained area would be a lot easier than on-location! So the question is......Would you be interested in a session like this? I have found a studio over on John's Island that will rent out space, now I just need to people to want to book sessions. If you are looking for a Fun way to kick off Spring, than this is for you! So made a trip to Gerald's Tire today to get nail taken out of my husbands tire and this is what I found in my seat when I left the tire shop! Talk about southern hospitality and great customer service! You bring your tire to get repaired at Gerald's and in return you get a rose and a fixed tire!

Weesner/Vogt Wedding!

I met with Kerry and Wendy many months before their big day to get all the details. They had planned a beach wedding with the reception being held at a beach house nearby. With one month until the big day everything changed! They changed the wedding/reception location, had doubled their guest list!! The wedding was on the lawn at Alhambra Hall overlooking the marsh with the reception following inside the hall. We could not have asked for a prettier Carolina sunset! The Ratley Family!!

Today I met with the Ratley family for a session on the beach. They are vacationing in Charleston from Kentucky for the week. The week called for RAIN and right before we met up there was a huge thunderstorm! Just before we walked out to the beach the sun started to peek out from the clouds and I could not have asked for better weather. They were such a great family to work with!! Daniel was a camera ham!!! He loved the camera and made my job so much fun. I was able to take photos for the entire hour with no melt downs from the little one...that's unheard of!!! Just want to say thanks to the Ratley's and I hope they enjoy the rest of their stay in Charleston.

Hamlin Plantation Blugrass Festival

This past Saturday I had the joy of being apart of the Hamlin Plantation Bluegrass festival. The plantation has this festival every year and the turnout is always great! They have something for all ages. Great BBQ, jump castles, and great entertainment! I set up a fall photo session for all the little ones to get their photo taken, but mother nature had a different plan!!! I had fun and hope next year for better weather!! Today I had a "Big" meeting over on John's Island and decided to take some time and check out some of the sight that I rarely get to photograph. The Angel Oak tree was saved and I could not be happier!!! It is 65 ft high and is 1500 years old. The Morris Island Lighthouse is just breath taking! Grandms Della's 90th Birthday!!

So my husband and I made the trip to Richwood, OH this past weekend to hangout with the family for his grandma's 90th birthday! We see the family maybe twice a year so we were really excited that we were able to make the trip. So the adventure started with getting up at 3:30AM on Saturday and heading to the airport and then traveling all day!!! I swear traveling all day really takes a lot out of you!! We then had a 2 hour layover in Atlanta then arrived in Columbus to then be whisked away for lunch/dinner with the fam. Of course when you don't get to see family often it's then staying up until midnight to catch up on the latest with everyone!! Sunday we had grandma Della's birthday party at her independent living community. I of course was in charge of taking all the photos for the party!! It's one of those things that I will never forget. Being there and watching grandma Della see all of her family and friends come to celebrate her birthday was amazing. I would glance occasionally and her face was priceless. All and all the trip was so worth it and I am so glad that I was able to capture all the great moments of the big day! Billy's Surprise 40th Birthday Party!

So Lori(Billy's wife) called me last Wednesday and asked me if I would be available to photograph her husbands 40th Surprise party on Saturday! I couldn't resist, I love surprises!! Even though the surprise wasn't for me or anyone I knew I had to do it. Just to capture the look on someone's face as they finally figure out was it going on is just great. Let me tell you Billy's face was priceless!!! I had an opportunity to hang out with the family and friends as we all awaited Billy's arrival and just want to say thank you for making me fell like I was part of the party!!! Billy will be leaving to travel to Turkey for the Military this week for the next year and my thoughts and prayers are with him and his family. The Karns Family Beach Shoot!!!

I had a blast with the Karns Family last night out at Isle of Palms!! They traveled all the way from Michigan and rented a really neat LIME green rental house right on the beach!!! I met them at sunset to capture their family(reunion) photos, and talk about a great time. The weather could not have been any better. We have been having a little rain here in South Carolina but it held off just for them! I hope they enjoyed their stay here and hope they make the trip back someday!!! They were visiting from Georgia for Memorial weekend and decided to get some photos taken and I am so glad that they chose me to capture some maternity/family shots. The Whiteheads!!

I had the great pleasure of getting to capture the 7 year anniversary for the Whiteheads!! They were so cute, acting just like newlyweds! I met them downtown Charleston at Waterfront park where they spent a lot of time before they were married. They spent most nights after work on a special bench overlooking the harbor. They have a great story and I was so glad to be a part of it!! Check out their photos!!

This Easter Sunday I had the joy to hangout with the gang from Living Word Christian Center!! What a crowd they were, I had a blast! I set up my portable studio and photographed various families throughout the afternoon. Cooper River Bridge Run 2009

Saturday I had the joy of being a part of the bridge run. My fiance was running in the race and I was just going to photograph the starting line up and with hopes of getting him finishing the race. I walked Coleman blvd capturing some really great shots. As I approached the bridge I just continued walking with all the runners and ended up on the bridge!!! There were a ton of police and army officers to keep all the runners in the middle of the bridge. Even though I was not running the race I had a great time being a part of it and getting some really great shots of all the dedicated people running. Well hello everyone I decided to get with the program and start blogging! So from here on out you can check out what is going on with Natasha M Photography. I have been having so much fun.
